PFA Enjoys Handy Hall Weekend

This past weekend, the students of Pine Forge Academy enjoyed an exciting weekend of activities hosted by the young men of Handy Hall. Here’s a rundown of the events.

Friday - Open House: Dorm Tour of Handy Hall & Friday Night Vespers

The event on Friday featured an open house for the young men in Handy Hall. Kimbrough Hall had the opportunity to take a guided tour of the dorm, showcasing the various living spaces, communal areas, and amenities. Residents displayed their creative room arrangements and stylish decor. The open house helped create a welcoming atmosphere, fostered a sense of community, and set an upward trajectory for the weekend. Friday night vespers was a spiritual gathering for students to come together in worship, reflection, song, and a brief sermonette by Dr. Evan Willis. The event offered a time for relaxation and rejuvenation at the end of the week, providing a peaceful space for participants to connect with God and each other. Through songs, testimonies, and a meaningful message, the vespers service helped set a positive tone for the weekend, fostering spiritual growth and community among our student body.

Sabbath Church Service  & Saturday Night Activity

The Sabbath church service was led by the young men of Handy Hall, providing them an opportunity to take on leadership roles in the worship experience. They participated in various aspects of the service, including scripture reading, prayer, music, and having the message delivered by Dr. Evan Willis, an alum of the academy. This service allowed the young men to showcase their faith and talents while fostering a sense of responsibility and brotherhood. It was a meaningful time of worship, community, and spiritual growth for everyone involved. The Saturday night activity featured a fun and competitive set of floor games, including classic games like "Steal the Bacon" and other nostalgic favorites. These games brought a sense of excitement and friendly rivalry as students participated in team-based challenges. The activity was not only a great way to unwind and bond, but it also fostered teamwork and camaraderie among our young men and women, creating lasting memories and a sense of community.

Sunday - "Christmas in July" Handy Hall Banquet

The "Christmas in July" Handy Hall Banquet was a festive and enjoyable event held on Sunday. The celebration featured a holiday-themed gathering, complete with decorations, food, and activities inspired by Christmas. The banquet provided an opportunity for residents of Handy and Kimbrough Hall to come together and celebrate in a relaxed, joyful atmosphere. It was a time for bonding, sharing good food, and creating lasting memories, all while embracing the spirit of togetherness and community.
