Kinlock’s Korner: Ft. Lee Church & Clergy March
President Kinlock Visits the Ft. Lee Korean Church

Dr. Kinlock joined the members of the Fort Lee Korean SDA Church in River Edge, NJ for Sabbath worship service. He was warmly greeted by the members of the church as he entered the sanctuary. During the morning services members testified about their recent impactful young adult and bible study ministries. Congregants were also blessed by the ministry of the Ft. Lee Chorale. Dr. Kinlock delivered the sermon out of John 14:1-6 reminding the congregation that in turbulent times Christ encouraged us to not allow our hearts to be troubled. Under the leadership of Senior Pastor Hyun Soo Kim, the Fort Lee congregation has flourished from 15 to well over 75 members. After service, Dr. Kinlock was treated to a delicious Sabbath lunch that included kimchi, noodles, dumplings, seaweed, and other Korean fare. The Fort Lee congregation is another representation of the beautiful diversity of the AEC family.

President Kinlock joins DC Metro Pastors in Clergy March for Justice
Pastors from the Washington Metro area joined clergy of other faiths in a Moral March against injustice. Protesters gathered outside the Supreme Court and marched to the US Capitol to protest budget plans that call for steep cuts to social programs like Medicaid and healthcare while providing 4.5 billion in tax cuts to the corporate class. They also assembled to speak out against the anti-immigrant and anti-poverty policies of the administration. Protesters delivered letters to the US Congress and Senate calling for policies that support the poor and vulnerable. Dr. Kinlock and AEC pastors joined hundreds of others to express their disapproval of these policies. Dr. Kinlock shared that the church has a prophetic mandate to speak up when society abandons its social responsibility to love, justice, and mercy. Quoting Isaiah 58, Kinlock shared, "Isaiah says, Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet and show my people their sins". The march was organized by "Repairers of the Breach" led by Pastor William Barber. Attending AEC pastors included the Washington Ministerium leader, Dr. Marcus Harris, Jajuan Sanders, Tinashe Mkoronbindo, Colby Matlock, and Emil Peeler.
