Serving the Community at First Millsboro Church: Daily Manna Food Pantry

This summer, the Daily Manna Food Pantry at First Millsboro SDA Church has been a source of fresh food and fresh perspectives for the local community. Led by ministry leader Karen Hamlin, along with a team of dedicated volunteers, the pantry opens its doors every Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., and every Sabbath from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Beyond providing essential nourishment, the pantry serves as an opportunity to share the love of God with each visitor. “Meeting the person where they are” is at the heart of this outreach, as it not only feeds the body but also offers spiritual encouragement to all who come.

This season, the pantry has been blessed with an additional bounty of fresh produce from the church garden, including corn, tomatoes, and watermelon. The garden boxes, originally built by Elias and Keren Harmon, have continued to provide a harvest thanks to the faithful efforts of David Tull, who tends to the non-GMO crops. Though these contributors prefer to remain behind the scenes, their dedication is evident in the fruits of their labor.

As First Millsboro SDA Church continues to serve both physical and spiritual needs, their mission is clear: to offer “Daily Manna” to the community, while harvesting souls for the Kingdom.
