President Kinlock on the Move
Ever wonder what your conference is up to during a given week? Here’s a summary of this past week!
President Kinlock Attends Youth Congress
Dr. Kinlock joined the Allegheny East youth at the Foundations Youth Congress that was held in Ocean City, MD. This was the first AEC Youth Congress in 15 years and was a tremendous spiritual experience. Over 700 delegates and teenagers from every area across AEC territory were inspired by a well-planned weekend of spiritual enrichment, worship, workshops, and leadership development. Our AEC Youth Director, Dr. Ramone Griffith, and team led an anointed weekend that resulted in 40 teens giving their lives to Christ. After the Sabbath morning service, seven teens were baptized. To God be the glory!!
President Kinlock Worships with the Remnant Church
Dr. Kinlock recently joined the believers at the Remnant SDA church for Sabbath worship. The congregation led by Sr. Pastor Sujjan John and Michael Pedrin (associate pastor) celebrated their 15 year anniversary last November. The Remnant church is comprised of members primarily from India, Asia, the Caribbean, and other ethnic groups. Dr. Kinlock preached to the congregation out of the prophetic book of Revelation looking at the last day messages regarding Babylon in chapters 17 and 18. He emphasized the corrupt nature of Babylon and connected these prophetic scriptures to current events. After the service Dr. Kinlock joined the congregation for a deliciously prepared Sabbath dinner of Indian food. The Remnant SDA church is located on a lovely property in Burtonsville, MD.
Kinlock at Regional Conference Ministries meetings in Arizona
This week the AEC administrators were in planning meetings in Scottsdale, AZ. Led by Executive Director, Dana Edmond, the Office of Regional Conference Ministries (ORCM) meets quarterly to plan and coordinate ministry efforts across the regional conferences. Regional conference presidents, secretaries, treasurers, ministerial directors, and other conference leaders spent several days planning PELC (Pastoral Evangelism and Leadership Conference), the upcoming BAYDA (Black Adventist Youth Directors) United Youth Congress, regional retirement goals, Oakwood University, and other joint initiatives. The Regional presidents met with NAD (North American Division) President, Alex Bryant to discuss the upcoming General Conference and coordinate efforts regarding recent changes in immigration enforcement policy.
On the first day of the conference, Dr. Kinlock gave the devotional thought entitled, "Where Do We Go from Here? It's Justice Time!" reminding the leaders of their prophetic responsibility amidst these turbulent social and political times.
