Hispanic Ministerium Listen ‘n Learn
Dr Kinlock met with the Hispanic Ministerium at the Mt Rainier Spanish SDA church in Mt Rainier MD. Under the leadership of cultural coordinator, Pastor Ramon Escalante, each pastor introduced themselves and the church where they pastored, and their areas of passion in ministry. Dr. Kinlock was greeted by a very warm welcome from the Hispanic pastors who expressed their gratitude and inspiration at his presence. The team of over 30 pastors organizes the AEC territory into zones, each led by an Area leader. The ministerium also has departmental directors that oversee youth ministry, pathfinders, adventurers, chaplaincy, and other ministry areas. Many pastors shared their zeal in the areas of evangelism and church planting--a key reason why AEC's Hispanic Ministries remains the fastest growing community of churches in the conference.
After sharing brief reports of the activities in each zone, Dr. Kinlock addressed the team on the Pentecost 2025 initiative and other matters. After the meeting, Dr. Kinlock took all the pastors out to lunch where they connected over good food and fellowship. The members in AEC's Hispanic churches represent a broad diversity of nationalities including Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Columbia, Honduras, El Salvador, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Mexico and many more. The richness of AEC's Hispanic community was on display as Dr. Kinlock shared a few sentences in Spanish.
