VA Area “Listen and Learn” with AEC President and Directors

On Wednesday, September 4th, pastors in the Virginia area met with AEC President, Dr. Trevor Kinlock and directors to provide an update on what is happening in their churches. The meeting was held at the Calvary Church in Newport News, VA

Devotion was offered by Pastor Cecil Williams followed by prayer from Dr. Dee Lucombe (lay pastor). The area leader, Pastor DuWayne Privette then shared an overview of the area’s focus which includes an emphasis on evangelism and collaboration under the banner of “One Virginia.” Each pastor gave a presentation of what their churches were actively engaged in and the directions they would like to go.

Dr. Kinlock then asked pastors to share some of there collective successes, overall challenges and ways the conference could provide support. He also shared his areas of focus, which includes evangelism/church growth, Christian Education, and Youth and Young Adults.

Then VA Area pastors heard updates and charges from the Office of Education from Dr. John Alberty, Youth and Children’s Ministries from Dr. Ramone Griffith, and Communication from LaTasha Hewitt.

These Listen-and-Learn sessions will continue throughout the rest of the territory throughout the month of September.
