Spiritual Legacy Continues at Millsboro Church

On Saturday, October 28, 2023,  First Millsboro Seventh-day Adventist Church was blessed to experience a Spiritual Family Legacy. The family of O'Bryant D. Jones and Sixta Lopez Jones were blessed to have their 7-month old son,  Taino Lopez Jones, dedicated by Pastor David Thorpe, Jr. and their 10-year-old son,  Avilo Lopez Jones, baptized later in the worship service by Pastor David Thorpe, Jr.

This milestone and double blessing was in the legacy of the Norwood Family at the First Millsboro Seventh-day Adventist Church.  Avilo Lopez Jones was the 5th generation of the Norwood family to be baptized into this Church.

This legacy started with his great great grandparents, Samuel B. Norwood and Thelma E. Norwood, then his great grandparents , James W. Jones and Alice "Fedora" Norwood Jones, then his grandmother, Lola K. Jones Peters, then his parents, O' Bryant D. Jones and Sixta Lopez Jones and now Avilo Lopez Jones.

The Norwood family is rich with having the following in their family,  alums of Pine Forge Academy, Oakwood (College) University, Columbia Union College,  current and former employees of Allegheny East Conference, employees of the Southwest Region or the Southeast Region of the Conferences for the Seventh-day Adventists.

We at First Millsboro Seventh-day Adventist Church are very proud of the blessing God is bestowing up on us and for this milestone to a part of our church history.
