K-8 and Early Childhood Educators Meet for Professional Development

On November 11, 2024, K-8 educators, along with Early Childhood Education (ECE) directors, teachers, and assistants, gathered at Dupont Adventist School for a day of professional development.  After meeting in the main auditorium with K-8 teachers for morning devotion, ECE educators continued in a classroom prepared just for them.  Mrs.  Robinson, an early childhood teacher from BJA, enthusiastically shared free technology resources that can be used to support our ECE curriculum in Math, Science, Bible, PE and Language Arts. She kept us engaged as we participated in various activities, including songs and physical exercises to help our little ones grow in ways that are meaningful, stimulating, and fun.  Educators visited the Dupont Pre-K House, under the direction of Mrs. Cox, and were able to see how God is blessing them in a mighty way to help build a strong foundation for their little scholars.  Mrs. Wilkerson, Director for Sharon Temple's ECE center, brought games and activities for us to view.  I shared the ECE report and throughout the day provided opportunities for prayer, reflections, sharing classroom experiences, articulating needs and getting to know one another. Educators were able to take some “goodies” back to their school.  We had a great time!

Our ECE educators are to be commended for their faithfulness and love for "our" children. I am proud of them and am grateful to walk alongside them as we grow kids for the kingdom. I want to express my appreciation to Mrs. Craig, Ms. Baker, Mrs. Cox, Mrs. Foote and the entire Dupont Adventist School for welcoming and serving us with joy. Thank you, principals and board chairs, for helping to make ECE a priority as you encouraged your educators to be present.  We are grateful for the support that is given from our conference administrators, leaders and pastors. We realize that ECE is a year-round evangelistic effort, and having your support makes a tremendous difference.

Attached is the ECE Report that was shared with ECE leaders and with the Board of Education for Allegheny East Conference on November 10, 2024.  There are a couple of pictures also attached of our PD day for you to view.  Keep us in prayer as we continue to grow our ECE centers. Please share this with your school board members so they are also informed of what is taking place with our AEC Conference ECE program and know that their efforts are appreciated.  Thank you.

Serving God's Children,

Dr. Renee Humphreys
