First Millsboro Church Assists with North Carolina Flood Relief Efforts

On October 5, 2024, First Millsboro Seventh-day Adventist Church answered the call to support those affected by the devastating floods in North Carolina. Through a family tragedy, God connected the church with Brandon Watts, an EMT with Ambulnz by DocGo Emergency Medical Services in Dover, Delaware.

Brandon transported the supplies to Old Fort, North Carolina, where they would then be delivered to remote areas by mule and horseback—regions not easily accessible to emergency personnel. First Millsboro SDA Church responded quickly, gathering an impressive range of donations in just 48 hours through Facebook, text messages, and email. The donations, which filled the bed of a dually pickup truck, included:

- Women's clothing, men's clothing, and children's shoes and socks

- Diapers, formula, and wipes

- Water and toiletries for women and babies

- Paper towels, winter coats for men, women, and children

- Books, including Bibles and Steps to Christ

On October 8, 2024, Brandon Watts confirmed the successful delivery of the contributions to the Redeeming Grace Holiness Tabernacle, one of the key centers for distributing the supplies. The gratitude expressed by the community and church members in North Carolina highlighted the impact of this effort.

This outpouring of support reflected the scripture in 1 Peter 4:10: “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”

Special thanks to Pastor David Thorpe, Jr. and Brandon Watts for making this outreach mission possible. Everyone is grateful for the outpouring of love shown by First Millsboro and the surrounding community.
