Paterson Church Baptizes 71 After Holistic Series

The First Church of Paterson has made a significant impact on the community through its recent initiative, the Elevation Unlimited Empowerment Series with the Senior Pastor and international evangelist, Donald C. Francis. The series officially kicked off on June 1 and culminated on June 29, 2024.

Passionate about the holistic approach to evangelism, the church initiated its pre-series strategies at least six (6) months prior to June 1. The initiatives included, but were not limited to Jesus In Jeans: Casual Connections, Jericho Prayer Walks, Personal Bible Studies, Women Prayer Breakfast, AY in the Park, Health Professional Award Ceremony, Mothers Support Group, Family Life Black History Month Celebration among others. The church engaged in a robust communication campaign through its social media ministry at least two (2) months before the series began. Promotions from world-renowned Bill and Gloria Gaither music ministers, The Hoppers, were a part of the communicative initiatives.

With the employment of these strategic efforts and the powerful movement of the Holy Spirit, the First SDA Church of Paterson welcomed seventy one (71) new members through the Elevation Unlimited Empowerment Series. Hearts were convicted by the Holy Spirit through elevating soul-stirring sermons that addressed addiction, singleness, marriage, purpose of having children, and many more topics that are applicable to both the spiritual and mental health of attendees. Numerous miracles were encountered ranging from requests for baptism from other countries and out-of-state viewers traveling for hours to be baptized.

The church, in partnership with community leaders and entrepreneurs, also catered to the physical needs of the community by gifting attendees with ipads, gift vouchers for gas and grocery, bookbags packed with school supplies, clothing, cribs, devotionals written by Pastor Francis among many more relevant items.  This outreach effort not only strengthened the spiritual bond within the congregation but also fostered positive relationships with the local community. This was evident from the visit of Andre Sayegh, Mayor of Paterson, who commended the church for its continuous and invaluable community impact.

The series ended with a concert showcasing the talents of the new members. They were also assigned spiritual mentors by the newly established Conservation Committee, and were accepted into the fellowship of believers. The journey continues as Pastor Donald C. Francis facilitates a specially developed Bible Class on Spiritual Growth and Maturity over the period of eight (8) weeks.

The church's dedication to both spiritual growth and community service is truly commendable, inspiring others to follow suit in making a difference in the lives of those around them. Stay tuned for more elevating news from the First Church in Paterson, New Jersey.
