Metro SDA Church Realizes Longtime Dream with Opening of Health

Metro SDA Church is thrilled to announce the opening of a new health clinic, a significant milestone that has been a longtime dream of the church community. This initiative aims to provide essential healthcare services to the local community, reflecting the church's commitment to holistic well-being.

The clinic will operate on the second Sunday of every month, offering a range of medical services including health screenings, consultations, and preventive care. By making healthcare accessible regularly, the church hopes to address the needs of individuals who may face barriers to accessing medical services in the Hyattsville community.

The establishment of the clinic was driven by the church’s vision to serve and uplift the community. For years, Metro SDA Church has been dedicated to improving the quality of life for its members and neighbors, and this clinic represents a big step toward that goal.

"We are incredibly excited to see this dream come to fruition," said Pastor Dr. Trevor Kinlock. "This clinic is a testament to our commitment to serve our community not just spiritually, but physically and mentally as well."

The monthly clinics will be staffed by volunteer healthcare professionals from within the church and the broader community, ensuring that patients receive quality care. Services will be provided free of charge, underscoring the church’s mission to support the health and well-being of all individuals, regardless of their financial situation.

Leading the health initiative is Dr. Ursula Allen, whose expertise and dedication have been instrumental in bringing this project to life. Her leadership ensures that the clinic maintains high standards of care and addresses the specific health needs of the community.

The launch event, held on July 14, 2024, from 11 AM to 4 PM, was a significant success, with the church catering to over 70 people. In partnership with the Care for Your Health Medical Popup Clinic, the event offered a variety of health screenings including diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, mental health wellness, weight evaluation, and more.

Metro SDA Church invites everyone to take advantage of the clinic services and to spread the word to those who may benefit. By continuing to offer these services on the second Sunday of each month, the church hopes to make a lasting impact on the health and wellness of the community.
