G.E. Peters School Welcomes New Principal
Allegheny East Conference is pleased to welcome Dr. Tanisha Pride as the new principal for George E. Peters Adventist School in Hyattsville, Maryland.
Dr. Pride, an esteemed educator, holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas Tech University, a Master's in Education from Pace University, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Georgia College and State University. She brings over ten years of experience in teaching and school administration, complemented by her scholarly work in nanochemistry, servant leadership, and promoting equity in STEM education. Notably, she was instrumental in driving academic progress in Math and English Language Arts as the founding Assistant Principal at Samuel Gompers School.
In addition to her educational background, Dr. Pride has a notable track record in enhancing school resources through securing small business partnerships and grant writing. This skill set has enabled her to significantly contribute to the material and educational advancement of the institutions she has been part of.
Dr. Pride is a passionate advocate for Adventist education, as reflected in her children's previous enrollment at Excel Adventist Academy and Huntingdon Valley Adventist Academy. Her comprehensive experience spans public, charter, and private schools, including governance roles at Ivy Hill Christian Academy in Germantown, Pennsylvania, and on The Allegheny East Conference Board of Education.
With her extensive experience in educational leadership and her proven ability to boost both student and teacher performance, Dr. Pride is well-equipped to foster an environment of academic excellence and innovation. Her commitment to STEM education and her skills in resource augmentation through business partnerships and grant writing are poised to bring a new dimension of growth to G. E. Peters Adventist Academy.
