Fall Employees Meeting Reignites the Mission

On Monday-Wednesday October 28-30th, over 100 pastors gathered at AEC headquarters in Pine Forge, PA for our annual fall employees meeting. The theme for the gathering was “The Mission is Possible” with a strong focus on effective and innovative evangelism.

Each day opened up with a worship experience featuring music and a message. On Monday, special music was offered by Adrienne Rhodes (PFA vice principal) followed by a message from Pastor Seungho Park. On Tuesday, Pastor Geston Pierre (GP) shared the sermonic song and message, and on Wednesday, special music was given by Pastor Jovan Whyte followed by a word from Pastor Marleena Debrough.

With a focus on evangelism, guest presenter, Pastor Daniel Hall shared his testimony, as well as the components of the development of his “Compassion Project” model that revolutionized his ministry. There were also 3 panel discussions covering various aspects of evangelism. One was led by Dr. Emil Peeler, and focused on community engagement. Another was moderated by Alexis Myers and Geston Pierre, and included our young adult pastors sharing on contemporary issues in ministry. The final panel, moderated by Dr. Ron Williams focused on cultural considerations as perspectives were shared by representatives from AEC’s various ethnic groups.

There were additional presentations focusing on the “healthy pastor.” Drs. Robert and June Kennedy presented on healthy families, sharing insights from their 54+ years of marriage. Anthony Medley, DMin, AEC health director, shared on the importance of physical activity and exercising one’s right to vote. Dr. David Defoe, AEC’s relationship ministries leader, shared tools on self-care and mental health.

There were also helpful presentations from Aflac and our own Pine Forge Academy.

On Tuesday afternoon, pastors and members of the office staff enjoyed the stage production of “Daniel” at Sight and Sound Theaters in Ronks, PA followed by a meal at Shady Maples Smorgasbord.

On the final day, employees were recognized for their years of AEC service from 0-47 years. New employees and retirees were also introduced and prayed over.

Overall, the three days offered an opportunity for pastors to connect, learn, and exhale. It is the hope that they left believing that “The Mission is indeed Possible.”
