EXCOM Meets for Strategic Planning Session
On Sunday, November 17th, AEC’s Executive Committee met for a special strategic planning session to discuss the conference’s path forward. The process was facilitated by Pastor Moses Njuguna, AEC’s African Ministerium Coordinator.
The meeting began with a devotional message from A. Pearlita Jones (Delaware Valley representative), followed by a season of prayer.
Dr. Trevor Kinlock, president, shared a current overview of the conference, including reflections from meetings with pastors, directors, ethnic groups, and the office staff. Kinlock highlighted the strengths and weaknesses shared in all areas.
Next, the vice president for administration, Gary Wimbish, shared current membership and statistical information, followed by a financial report from Lawrance E. Martin, vice president for finance, and a synopsis of considerations from directors by LaTasha Hewitt, communication director.
Following the presentations, Pastor Njuguna shared a summary of previous strategic plans formulated by various committees.
The committee then broke up into smaller groups to discuss and make recommendations regarding the conference’s core values and mission statement. Following lunch, the committee conducted a SWOT analysis of the conferences (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats).
The session ended by dividing into smaller groups based on the identified core focuses: wellness, evangelism and discipleship, children, youth, and young adults, stewardship, and Christian education. These groups will continue to meet to narrow down priorities and next steps. The results of each group will be considered by a smaller group, who will finalize the document.
Please keep our leaders and committee in prayer during the process.
*In his report, Dr. Kinlock shares his vision for the conference under the banner of “Refresh AEC.” Details regarding this will be shared as details develop.
