The Delmar Community Service Federation held Emotional and Spiritual Care Training on April 21-23. The Training was conducted by Derrick Lee, Disaster Coordinator with General Conference. Derrick Lee divided the trainees in groups and discussion was presented from topics he talked about and how we would handle them. It is amazing how we put self in situations that we thought might be good but found out another way to handle. When we looked at WWJD, we said later that was the best way to handle the situation.

Pastor Kenneth Anderson, the Pastor for Mt. Carmel and Bethuel Church, shared words of appreciation for this training and that someone can go out and be a blessing to someone in need. Pastor Anderson church, Mt Carmel in Harrington DE, was the host church for this training. The Mayor of Harrington DE, Duane Bivans, stopped by on Saturday and Sunday and shared how wonderful it was to see this type of training.

Disaster of Storms affecting homes destroyed, Shooting and helping people cope with death. The Mayor thanked Derrick Lee for his presentation of the Training. The Mayor stated if he can be of any help and support to call on him. The Mayor’s Assistant, Micah Parker, was present and introduced the Mayor. Micah Parker is a member at Mt Carmel Church in Harrington.

AEC Community Service Director, Robert Smith, talked about the importance of being trained so you know what to do when a disaster hits, whether in an area close to home, or far away. He also provided disaster shirts, jackets and hats.
